Bhaagi ri main....

So I have been running lately. That too quite a bit!! Over the past few months I have transformed from someone who hates running to someone training for a half-marathon. hmmm...quite a contrast isn't it. Am running to generate funds for underprivileged kids in India through an organization called "Asha". Check out my marathon website if you want to know more about my running escapades (or if you or anyone you know is interested in supporting my cause :)). I am training with a really nice team and we run together on Saturdays. I have to confess that during the first month of training the runs seemed very tiring. Not that I have become a pro or anything but lately I enjoy the long runs. This Saturday for the first time in my life I ran 10 miles and was thrilled. It was quite cold but after the first mile I started enjoying the run, especially since the trail was nice. I wish I were poetic enough to describe my feeling. The one song that comes to my mind which describes it best is bhaage re mann from "Chameli". So I had to record it! Sunidhi Chauhan does such a great job of capturing Chameli's emotions. Her voice in this song is so soft and soothing (almost like she is whispering it in your ear). Here is my attempt...this time dedicated to my fellow runners. Please listen when you have the time and please do not hesitate to provide feedback :)

Song: Bhaage re mann ; Movie: Chameli

Nice rendition! Very expressive. Just felt a little strain in ur voice at some places. But ur expressions covered it up! This is a different kind of song from the ones u had on ur blog before. And u did good justice to it. Proud of u!

Bhaagi ri main....funny!

Bhaage re maan...sounds nice and your effort to sing it in a softer style is successful.

Krishnan Sir: Am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for listening :).

Smitha: Thanks for the comments. Since I was trying to sing softly probably the high notes sound a litte funny. Will try to work on that the future :).

Azam & Harshan: Thanks a lot for commenting. Am glad you both liked it.

Paras: Thanks for the encouraging comments on my song as well as my run. Am glad you appreciate my sense of humor. Although I should warn you that it deteriorates quite rapidly (so you might regret encouraging me)

Deblina, Sowmya & Rajesh: Thanks for listening and leaving such nice comments.

Abi, Sunitha & Awatts: Welcome to my blog :). Really appreciate your comments :)

Pravin: I also like this song a lot. Am glad you liked my singing :).

good job...liked your analogy to running :)
really like the antara ..you voice definitely sounds soothing. atti uttam :)
maybe you can just fix the couple of lines in the mukhada which sound a little strained..

Wow, great singing Nandita. You have a wonderful voice. Nice modulations.

Goodluck for your marathon training. Make sure you stretch well before and AFTER. Good solid stretching is the key to avoid injuries.

Vishal: Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it.

Soumitra & Dhiraj: Thanks for the encouraging words. Yes, you are correct breathing is an issue for me. Will try to improve.

Ligne: Thanks for the comments. You are correct. The mukhada (and even some in antara) ka some bahta's and kahta's sound a little funny.

TCR ji: Thanks a lot! Your comments are very encouraging. Also, thanks a lot for the good wishes for my run and the advice on stretching. Shall keep it in mind.
